Fishing Report:

Finally, it was going to have to happen at some point and it looks as if it finally did, the Northeast corner of the park has made a turn for the better and fishing is picking up here on Slough, Soda Butte and the Lamar. You'll just have to monitor some of the weather and the river flows for clarity, as things will be day to day. But finally there is some dry fly fishing on the rivers that everyone get's so excited about. Honestly, we always here how technical Slough is, but we can go out on any given day and catch cutthroats on PMX's and Royal Wulffs................hmmmm..............

On the West end of the Park we are starting to see the Firehole warm up temperature wise, the hatches are still decent but fishing is good early and early only, the afternoons have been awful, the evenings a little better but still tough. The Madison and Gibbon are still in good shape though and fishign with PMD's and Caddis has been pretty good, the drakes seem to have dwindled a bit or at least no one is reporting them if they are fishing them. But attractor dries on the Gibbon have been excellent and fish are still hungry. The Gallatin in the Park is still a bit high, but nymphing has been decent, pretty much wait until mid August on this in the Park.

Salmonflies are in the Park on the Yellowstone, don't know exactly where, but probably very low on the river still. Maybe time to take a trip to Tower in the next week and give it a look see and give a report, at least it's an excuse for me to go to the Park!
