At Montana Troutfitters we take our membership in the community very seriously and as such we feel it is our duty to introduce people to the sport of fly fishing and all of the good it can do for people from all walks of life. From aiding in conservation efforts, to helping out our Military Men & Women, to volunteering at the local Boys & Girls Club, our staff takes pride in being a member of the greater Gallatin Valley and fishing communities.
Below you can find various organizations that we work with both in and outside of our community. If you’d like to learn more about the various organizations that we work with, we encourage you to visit their websites.
We’d like to thank all of our customers for supporting us so that we can continue to support these and many other worthy causes.
Sincerely,

Kris, Andrea & Bailey Kumlien & Justin, Lisa and Arlee King
Warriors and Quiet Waters Foundation

A Bozeman based non-profit organization, the Warriors

and Quiet Waters Foundation's mission is to employ the therapeutic and rehabilitative qualities of fly fishing for trout on Montana’s rivers and streams to help heal US servicemen and women traumatically wounded or injured in the OIF/OEF theaters of war.
Montana Troutfitters serves as the "Fly Fishing Headquarters" for the W&QW activities. We are proud

to be involved in such a wonderful organization offering such restorative activities for our wounded service men and women.

Conservation Organizations

We are proud to donate on a recurring basis to various conservation organizations both locally and nationally. Some of these organizations include but are not limited to Trout Unlimited, Ducks Unlimited, Pheasants Forever, and the National Wild Turkey Federation. We feel that to continue to enjoy the resources we've been blessed with in Montana that it is important to participate on a grassroots level, and we fund such efforts through donations to these worthy organizations.

Cancer Research

This has a special place in Kris' life as he lost his grandfather Robert J Foukal to testicular cancer and his mother Karyn is a Breast Cancer Survivor. As such at Montana Troutfitters we donate part of the proceeds every year from our Breast Cancer Rod and Reel Packages to the Susan G Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. Additionally we donate flies and time to Reel Recovery, and Casting for Recovery - both organizations doing great work with cancer survivors.

Our Local Community

We continue to believe that a strong stewardship of our community only betters the place that we live in and as such we donate our time to many organizations, causes, clubs and schools, so many that we can't list them all! But a few of them include the Boys & Girls Club, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Eagle Mount and the Child Advancement Project. For more information on how you can help locally, get in touch with the folks at these organizations by clicking on their logos to visit their websites.
If you would ever like to volunteer your time along with us on any of these causes, contact Kris Kumlien the General Manager at the shop, we'd be glad to have helpers!
