Fishing Report:

So things got pretty cold up here over the past couple of weeks, cold and snowy... That put the damper on the fishing for a little while, however, things have warmed back up a bit (hey relatively). So you could certainly make you're way up here in the next week as long as the weather cooperates and have some decent fishing. Far cry though from the warmer December and early January when it was in the 40's and the dry fly fishing was excellent. The flows are still up a bit, so some wade fishing spots have been a little sketchy, but things are supposed to drop back down here shortly. When they do it will get better again for wade fishermen.

Lots of guys hitting it up between the lakes over here as well - not going to have it to yourself this winter but you can find some good fishing on eggs and midges right now if you chose to head to Holter. Even open water in areas you wouldn't expect it in January...

Nymphing has been the staple all winter long and certainly isn't going to change at all anytime soon. Lately a lot of Pink has put fish in the boat. Scuds, Sow bugs, and eggs should work. Some Trout are looking for a little bit bigger of a meal. Flashy streamers or smaller sized black Wooly Buggers are fishing well on the right days - think a bit warmer for streamer action.
