Kiel was born in Polson, Montana on beautiful Flathead Lake. He grew up fishing small spring creeks and rivers for all species of trout as well as lakes and ponds fishing for bass and lake trout, rounding out his overall love for the sport of fishing.

Kiel's father was instrumental in his understanding and love for fly fishing and the greater outdoors. Kiel's journeys have taken him all over the state of Montana as well as Florida and Alaska, and in and out of the classroom in between. Kiel currently resides at Bozeman's Montana State University where he plans on graduating in civil engineering.

Who knows where Kiel will end up, or what he'll be fishing for next, but one thing is for sure, we're glad to have him as a part of our excellent staff.
