Fishing Reports
About the same as last time, only not as good - colder, more wintery, not where we'd be heading right now. Not the worst option, not the best option, call it option J or K maybe... A through I would be just about anywhere else around the area like the tailwaters and spring creeks or Madison etc. But if you want to get away from a few folks and find maybe a fish or two feeding on nymphs and possibly a dry midge somewhere then you could consider the Boulder. Stay down lower on this right now, I personally find the higher towards McCleod you get at this time of year, the more ice and slush you will find (higher up, it's colder). Stay towards Big Timber for the better fishing opportunities in the winter. And no it's not time to float it, this is strictly wading at this time of year for sure. Standard nymphs and Delektables are extremely productive trailed with a worm or egg pattern, if you do find fish feeding in the slack waters they are eating midges, toss a Griffiths cluster and see if they won't inhale it.
