Fishing Report:
Well it was bound to happen... Things are reaching the point at which enough people have flailed around in the creeks and the PMD hatches have reached their peak and the fishing is reaching a plateau. There have still been good hatches of bugs on the creeks, but to say that they have been a bit tougher would be pretty accurate. The Livingston creeks had been booked solid for close to a month, so it's no surprise really that things have slowed a bit. Now is a great time to share a rod with a friend if you don't want to pony up the whole $100 rod fee and just switch off every so often. Still lots of folks on the creeks, to get some reprieve try Milesnick's - just book in advance and don't expect the relative ease of the Livingston creeks, it's a toughy and the hatches have been better on Thompson than on Benhart, but I know the real secret to catching big fish on the creek (sorry dry fly purists, you won't have a chance at these fish ever) they eat streamers... Get a cloudy afternoon with a little pissin rain and man up and cut it back to 0x and have at the big boys. I know pure blasphemy... But hey, it works! Don't expect terrestrial fishing to get good for at least another few weeks, probably around the first couple of weeks of August.
