Thursday Nights @ Troutfitters
Suds, Bugs & BS
 If
you haven't made it down for a Thursday night at Troutfitters you've
been missing out! We've been going since the 15th of November and we've
had a great group of guys each and every night, watched some Trout Bum
Diaries I & II and tied up some pretty spectacular flies.
All you need to do is bring a vise and some materials, and if you
forget something we have plenty on our wall, and the BS is in no short
supply. It's a fun relaxed atmosphere where guys can learn techniques
and patterns from their fellow fishermen.
It's every Thursday evening at Montana Troutfitters all winter
long from 6pm till I have to close the doors. So stop down some
Thursday night and tie a few bugs! |
Your Winter Fishing Update It's Never Too Cold for Fishing...
So
despite some cold days, we have had some great fishing weather over the
past few weeks here. With temps just above freezing it makes for a more
pleasant experience when you're out.
I've
made it out twice in the past week to Nelson's and the East
Gallatin and the fishing was good. Fish seem to be eating midge
larvae pretty well and they have been plenty cooperative. Reports
from friends and customers have been good as well, so if you
haven't had a chance, get out there!
The
more popular spots have been the Lower Madison below the dam in
Beartrap, the Gallatin and East Gallatin, the Spring Creeks and of
course the ever popular and productive Missouri and Bighorn. For a
change check out the Ruby or Poindexter Slough just outside of
Dillon. Both are excellent winter fisheries. For these and other more
in depth reports check out the full slate at http://www.troutfitters.com/fishingreport/report.html
